SAG-AFTRA Eligible Actor

I was 3 years old with a speech impediment. I was very self-aware and knew I was unable to communicate clearly, so I rarely did.  Then the day that would create my life trajectory happened when I watched Jack Nicholson in 1989’s Batman!  Frantically, I told my parents I wanted to be that!...I wanted to be him.  No, not the Joker, not Jack Nicholson. I knew at 3 1/2  years oId, I wanted to be on the screen and do what they were doing. I wanted to be an actor. I memorized the words of the movie and with pride I began to act it out. It was in those moments my speech impediment was nonexistent. In the 3rd person, I was somehow able to speak fluidly. I remember the excitement in my parents faces… I remember the feeling I had inside me… I remember I wasn’t insecure. I was comfortable, and confident… I was an Actor!
